East West dimensions in Climate Policy - WIFO-Climate Strategies (2010-2011)

North – South (that is developed versus developing world) conflicts and views on climate policies and their stances towards an international climate agreement are often researched. East West (that is old EU-15 versus new MSs) dimensions in Climate Policy are much less well explored. The need for understanding such dimensions and, based on this, improving cooperation is evident if MSs want to agree on further basics of common EU climate policy, which then can successfully be represented in international climate negotiations. On the order of WIFO, an Austrian economic research institute, in collaboration with Climate Strategies, a UK based research group, MAKK takes part in the “East West Dimensions” work package of the ICPIA project (Coping with Complexity in the Evolving International Climate Policy Institutional Architecture).
